The Case For Isolationism

These days, isolationism is frowned upon as cruel, heartless, and xenophobic. But, all one needs to do is take a look at the state of the way our country operates on the world stage to know that none of that is true.

I propose a question to those who wish to help everyone: How will you pull this off? Sure, your heart is in the right place but, how do you intend to create this special, tolerant world where everyone just happens to magically get along? Because, I have news for you, America cannot provide for everyone. And, not every culture is equal in tolerance and not every culture’s customs are as civilized as many in the Western world are.

I believe that the Left’s intention to help everyone is a good one and that their heart is in a good place but, the truth is, we cannot afford (literally) to think with just our emotions here. We must be logical when approaching immigration and the state of our nation. And unfortunately for the Left, efficiency and logic seem to be out of the question in favor of their feelings. But, in the words of Ben Shapiro, “Facts don’t care about your feelings” (no matter what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may have to say about this).

And the facts are, that we have neglected our own citizens for far too long. We have a still crumbling infrastructure in many places, horrible treatment for our veterans, and because of illegal immigration, it is still becoming increasingly harder for American citizens to find good paying jobs in certain fields.

Now I’m sure you all laugh at the “They took our jerbs” joke from South Park but, it is true in a sense. And this isn’t truly the fault of illegal immigrants, either. It is the fault of corporations who wish to make as much money as possible without having to pay decent wages to their workers. And so, they bring in desperate 3rd world migrants who are used to working much harder for much less and they hire them in droves while also lowering the wages of these jobs.

We also have to take into consideration the insane security risks that many immigrants pose. Are all illegals criminals? No, of course not. But the Left’s narrative of illegals all being honest, hard working people or that they’re all just innocent women and children is bullshit, plain and simple. I mean, you merely need to take a look at the sheer amount of people trafficked through our southern border to know that this is untrue. Let alone the amount of drugs that pass through the border or the amount of criminals that are allowed to be given asylum in places like sanctuary cities.

And on the topic of human trafficking, Trump recently said something that was graphic, yet brutally honest: “They drive. They just go where there’s no security, where you don’t even know the difference between Mexico and the United States. There’s no line of demarcation. They just go out and where there’s no fencing, or walls or any kind, they just make a left into the United States and they come in and they have women tied up. They have tape over their mouths, electrical tape, usually blue tape, as they call it. It’s powerful stuff. Not good. And they have three, four, five of them in vans, or three of them in back seats of cars. And they just drive right in. They don’t go through your points of entry. They just go right through. And if we had a barrier of any kind — a powerful barrier, whether it’s steel or concrete — if we have a barrier, they wouldn’t be able to make that turn. They wouldn’t even bother trying. “

All of this, is true. And anyone who denies the security risks associated with not securing our border, denies the very real possibility (and very often a reality) of criminals passing through our border, and acts as though our economy can magically support millions more migrants despite their already massive drain on our economy, is an idiot, willfully ignorant, or dishonest as all hell.

A government has a duty to its citizens first and foremost. It is not our duty to spend tens to hundreds of billions of taxpayer money on foreign aid and it is not our responsibility (nor is it viable at all) to support everyone who wants our help. We need to focus inward for once and help our own citizens before we start trying to help everyone else. We have plenty of domestic issues that will only continue to be neglected if we try to keep letting people swarm in through our border.

In other words, America First!

  1. ‘because of illegal immigration, it is still becoming increasingly harder for American citizens to find good paying jobs in certain fields.”

What good jobs are illegals taking? If somebody who doesn’t speak English takes your job, you need to rethink your profession.

Why not allow a certain number of working permits for those jobs that Americans are not willing to do?
